Two storey Side Extension & Single storey rear extension, Ogbourne Close, Longlevens, Gloucester.


A single storey mono pitch rear extension & a large span steel beam over allows for a complete transformation of the original kitchen and dining room into a fluid  family space with long dining  table, large island and an extensive run of wall units. New twin bi-folds doors allow more daylight in and allow access to the timber deck and generous rear garden.

 

A two storey side extension provides a new garage, WC and utility room at Ground Floor, while a new first floor provides a fourth bedroom, new large family bathroom and 2 new en-suite bathrooms. At the first floor stair landing the original box room was remodelled to allow extra daylight to penetrate the top of the stairs, the larger landing space now becoming a convenient home office.

Two storey Extension & internal renovations, Farrant Avenue, Churchdown, Gloucester


​A two storey masonry side extension provides space for a brand new full width open plan kitchen & dining room at ground level with a central island unit and Bi-fold glazed doors allowing additional light and easy level access into the private rear garden. The original kitchen space of the old house is redesigned into a small utility space and an additional downstairs WC. At first floor level two new bedrooms are created off a repositioned stairs with central sqaure landing. The bigger master bedroom enjoys a walk through dressing room and beyond an en-suite shower room, while the other room provides more than adequate space for a generous fourth bedroom with built in double wardrobe.

'Orangery style' Rear Extension & Internal Renovations, Heathville Rd, Gloucester

A rear single storey dining room infill extension and a new full width single storey ‘orangery’ style extension to the rear of the property provides much needed extra internal space, light & better connects the existing house with the substantial rear garden. Internally the existing kitchen, utility and dining rooms have been remodelled and a generous cloakroom disabled WC is added to the centre of the plan.
At first floor level all three bedrooms are remodelled with built in wardrobes along the walls covering the chimney breasts and an en-suite bathroom is added to Bed 02. A new and more visually appealing duel pitch timber carport is proposed to replace the existing vehicle garage. On the roof an new electric solar array, multi-source HW storage tank and system boiler provide modern energy efficiency.
 

Kitchen & Dining Extension, Popes Hill, Newnham, Forest Of Dean.

 

Extension and renovation works to make sense of an existing small cottage to provide a new modern kitchen & dining room, and beyond a utility space, en-suite shower room and new downstairs WC.

 

Externally new deep retaining walls and extended patio space complement the setting and allow the house the space to breathe. Features include locally sourced coursed stone rubble walling with feature quoins, recon stone cills, large north facing Velux roof windows, galvanised guttering and fully glazed gable end with large double doors providing easy access into the linear garden.

Two Storey Extension and Garage Conversion, Up Hatherley, Chelt.

A two storey extension to provide a new en-suite fifth / guest Bedroom in place of the existing garage, as well as an enlarged family size Kitchen and Music room at Ground Floor, enlarged third and fourth Bedrooms, enlarged Landing and small Office zone at First Floor.

 

Noteable for the inclusion of ingenious pocket doors to many of the interior spaces, along with in plane velux rooflights make this transformation possible whilst providing much needed additional space and light.

Rear Single Storey Extension, Hardwicke, Gloucester.

 

A new single storey full width extension at the rear of the property provides for a new enlarged south facing family kitchen / diner with breakfast bar, with vaulted ceilings & Velux roof windows overhead, while  a pair of French doors provide easy access out into the garden.

 

A late change to the design allows for a new 'sunroom' to be added in place of the proposed conservatory providing for all year around enjoyment of the garden through large format landscape windows, and through another set of French doors, and another pair of Velux roof windows. Particular successful is the brick match achieved through mixing on site two different brick manufacturers products to achieve a seamless joint to the existing brickwork.

Small Rear Single storey Extension, Abbeydale, Gloucester.


A new single storey masonry extension at the rear of the property provides for a new Dining Room filled with light from two overhead in-plane roof windows and one large casement window. Access out into the small garden is provided via glazed outward opening French doors.  

 

Although modest in size, by simply replacing the same building mass and footprint of the existing unusable conservatory, this extension adds much needed 'all year round' habitable space to the ground floor of this single bedroom dwelling and almost doubles the available living area at ground level.

Rear Single Storey Extension, Dursley, Stroud, Gloucester.


A new single storey full width property extension at the rear of the house provides for a new south facing living space with additonal daylight provided by a large full width structural opening that provides level access out into the rear deck and garden beyond via fully glazed outward opening Bi-fold doors.  

 

Although small in size, by replacing the existing large glazed conservatory with a fully insulated masonry build, this extension adds a much needed 35% to the 'all year around' habitable space at the ground floor level of this 2 bedroom dwelling.

Single Storey Extension and Alterations, Bentham, Gloucester

Downstairs a new single storey rear extension provides an enlarged family kitchen, new Dayroom, and new Utility space. The existing downstairs cloakroom is enlarged with the inclusion of a shower. 

 

Special features include wide opening BI-fold doors to the dayroom and three overhead Velux windows within the higher sloping roof line. Upstairs the odd 3 bed layout is further rationalised by swapping the smallest bedroom and large bathroom spaces over. This allows the third bedroom to enjoy the larger picture window and more space, while the new bath & shower room nestles comfortably under the sloping roof of the smaller second dormer.

Loft Conversion, Quedgeley, Gloucester.

 

A small but perfectly formed project to convert an existing truss rafter loft space into a new fourth bedroom, by the inclusion of a new steel and timber purlin structure, a new small four winder timber stair and 3 no in plane velux rooflights to provide a fantastic new space for a teenage daughter.

 

This was all achieved within the existing volume of the house without the need to remove the roof during construction and where living space was at a premium.

Rear Single Storey Extension, Farriers End, Quedgeley, Glos.

A single storey 'gable style' living and dining extension at the rear of the property provides much needed additional space to this 1980's bungalow.

 

Features include an enlarged family living space with large windows and central French style doors providing more natural daylight and access onto a small, safe family garden space. The existing kitchen has been modernised and internal dividing walls have been removed, adding  further to the open plan feel.

 

Details include UV tinted, heat refective glass, extra ceiling height following the roof slope, extensive use of modern insulation in floors, walls and roof and new external patio paving. Facias and rainwater goods of the existing buildings have been upgraded to complete the makeover of the entire property.

Rear Single Storey Extension, Mayfield Drive, Hucclecote, Glos.

A replacement single storey kitchen and dining extension at the rear of the property provides much needed additional space to this renovation of a 1940's 2 bedroom house.

 

Features include an enlarged and fully modernised family kitchen space with wrap around breakfast bar, new dinning space beyond with direct access out into the large garden via new aluminium bi fold doors. Details include a large overhead roof lantern that provides lots of natural daylight inside, crisp cream external rendered walls, parapet flat roof with slim aluminium capping, and new full width patio paving. The rear of the garage is also rendered to complete the makeover of the property.

Double Garage Conversion to GF Flat, Shard Cottage, Gloucester.

 

Conversion of an existing detached double garage into a self contained single story annex. The twin garage door openings provide opertunity for  large horizontal windows to add much needed light into the main open plan living space, while new full height windows and patio doors to the east add level access to a patio and lawn shared with the main house.  Additional windows have been added to the new bedroom and existing office space above along with a new combi heating system and new electrics for a shower room, double bedroom, entrance lobby and a open-plan kitchen, dining and living area.

A two storey extension on a very narrow site to provide a new bedroom, living room and WC / wetroom with full disabled facilities at Ground Floor and a new extended office / Library space at First Floor including a feature Juliet balcony.

 

The property extension had to contend with a very narrow site and the added constraints of a protected devon bank, whilst providing as much space and natural daylight as possible.
